Hi, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m Ana, the writer, chef, recipe developer, taste tester, and photographer behind Rosemary & Rye!
Rosemary & Rye is a food blog dedicated to making tasty recipes for every lifestyle. I believe in making delicious recipes that are flexible and diet friendly so a wide range of lifestyles can enjoy them! From gluten free to vegan, pescatarian to paleo – Rosemary & Rye has recipes to please even the pickiest eater in your life!
My life revolves around food – good food! There is so much joy in making something with your hands and having your creation bring people together. My favorite memory growing up was having dinner at my grandmother’s house with all of my family. To this day, all our gatherings involve food! The tasty treats, the company, and the memories are ones that I’ll keep forever!
I’m a self taught cook – almost everyone in my family is an amateur chef. I grew up making ice cream with my mother, baking cakes with my aunts, trying delicious new cuisines with my cousins, the list goes on and on! I’ve been cooking with my family for as long as I can remember. In fact, I recently unearthed my earliest recipe while cleaning… In the first grade, I had written and illustrated a recipe for carrot soup! #bloggerfromthestart. My family bonds over food, so naturally cooking has been a constant throughout my life as well!
Here, on the blog, I’ll be sharing recipes that I’ve created through experimentation or learned from my family. My recipes all stem from me making a mess in the kitchen – it’s my favorite part! For me, cooking is a relaxing experience. It’s my happy place and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!
My style of cooking is simple – I like to make delicious food in the easiest way possible and I like variety. You’ll find that the recipes on this blog always have suggestions to tweak the recipe to cater to specific diets. By diet, I don’t mean South Beach or any of those weight loss things – I mean lifestyles and dietary restrictions such as being vegan or gluten free. While I don’t follow a specific, strict diet, most of my family members have one dietary restriction or another. By having to cook recipes that could be enjoyed by my family with their unique diets, I’ve learned to make recipes that are flexible and can be made vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, or kid-friendly too! If you’re looking for a specific type of diet, look in the Recipes > Diet Friendly, and choose your favorite from there from there!
I personally don’t eat beef or pork at all, meaning you’ll never find recipes with those ingredients on the blog. In fact, I’m trying to cut out meat completely, so most of my recipes will be vegetarian, with the option to add proteins if you’d like. See, something for everyone!
Of course, I can’t do it all on my own. I get by with help from my little crumb catcher / rescue pup / BFF, Harper; certified picky eater / sous-chef /husband Nick; and my entourage of loving family members who try my recipes and offer suggestions to make them even better.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy!
